Roosevelt House guides play a critical role in sharing with our guests the history of the family, the house, the extraordinary ties between Eleanor Roosevelt and Hunter College, and the special role of the house as a college community center before it became a public policy center in 2010 after its restoration. The beautifully restored historic rooms at Roosevelt House resonate with the memories of the Roosevelts’ conversations and their influence in shaping the history of the city, state and nation that legacy is echoed in the classes, human rights and public policy programs, and free public lectures, book talks and conferences that take place throughout the year at the House.
